  • Cost: The cost of material required for the construction of the concrete platform is approximately 40% less than that of a steel platform.
  • Maintenance: A concrete structure is robust, rust-free, and maintenance-free. In steel structure, nuts and bolts require tightening and could rust, which is not the case in concrete weighbridges.
  • Design: In a concrete weighbridge there is no lateral pull of load cells as the concrete platform is a rigid monolithic structure and the load transfers vertically. As soon as the vehicle comes over the platform, the load gets distributed to all load cells.
  • Strength: Concrete platforms are heavy and have more mass and stability. Hence, no inverse forces due to the cantilever effect can take place at the ends of the platform.
  • Life: Concrete platforms have a long life, and no bending effect can take place.
  • Transportation: Concrete platforms are constructed on-site, eliminating transportation costs.
